Feral Kittens and Dumpster Kittens
We are all doing great here. I managed to get one of the 4 ferals to come around a bit, so I kept her and put her with the 2 dumpster kitties. The other 3 ferals are out on a huge dairy farm as barn kittens right now.

4 Feral Kittens
I was asked to give 4 totally feral kittens a chance. They are about 8 weeks old, eating on their own, but they are throwing a hissing and spitting fit as soon as a human comes near! And they were badly starved.
I put them in the cage, gave them some food and left them alone. This morning they seemed to be a bit more comfortable and I was able to touch one kitty (the one in the first picture) while she was eating and he/she didn't complain, so that's a good start.
I wasn't able to snatch really good pics, but you'll get the idea:

They appear dirty but healthy. Stool and everything is normal.

Two kittens found in a dumpster
These 2 were found in a dumpster at a hardware store:

A boy and a girl. The boy has the eyes open, the girl not yet, so I suppose they are close to 2 weeks old. Covered in fleas, but not dehydrated or anything, so that's good.
Just a day after Erica was adopted out!
I also received a puppy that was found in the dumpster, read more about that HERE.

We have a name and a breed for the Dumpster Puppy
Breed: Akita (maybe a mix, not sure yet)
Name: Kicker (in the hope he grows up to kick the butt of the one who threw him into the trash!)
He started to open his eyes today, so he is approx. 12 days old already. Which makes the situation so much worse in my mind, because it means that he had to have had an owner for almost 2 weeks who then decided to toss the baby into the trash.
I have been going through different possibilities in my mind as to what could have possibly happened that made the puppy end up in the dumpster, but nothing sounds good enough to excuse such affliction of suffering.

Dumpster Puppy
Earlier this evening my doorbell rang. One of our Animal Control Officers was standing there with a tiny puppy on his arm. He was visibly upset. He explained that he had just picked that puppy out of a dumpster and that he will never be able to understand how people could do such a thing.
The puppy full of fleas and very hungry. I detected some congestion, but he was very hungry and suckled on the bottle as if he had never done anything else! I hope he makes it.
I have no idea about the breed yet and I will have to think of a fitting name too!
